The global sukuk market saw a modest uptick in its issuance throughout the 1H 2023, after experiencing a dip in the previous quarter. The first half of 2023 witnessed a diverse range of new issuances which rounded up at USD77.58 bil for the period, recording a y-o-y growth of 1% (1H 2022: USD77.11 bil). This positive development indicated initial signs of short-term economic recovery, with the market adapting and adjusting to the new political climate and supply chain uncertainties.
