Prof. Dr. Ashraf Md. Hashim is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ISRA International Consulting Sdn. Bhd. (ISRA Consulting). He is currently Chairman of the Shariah Committee of Bursa Malaysia, Panel of Experts in Muamalat Matters at Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), and Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) of Bank Negara Malaysia. He is also a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission Malaysia, Shariah Committee of Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM), Shariah Committee of Lembaga Tabung Haji, among many others. The following are excerpts of his interview as the CEO of ISRA Consulting, his role as a Board Member of Tabung Haji, and his view on the next major milestone in the development of Islamic finance.
